ChefStack Pancake Machine- Your Automatic Pancake ATM

I like pancakes as much as the next person (maybe even more). They are great to make, but not when you are in a hurry, and need to get to an appointment. Even worse, when you have family or friends over for breakfast, it can take a long time to make a stack of pancakes (even more time if you need several stacks).

The ChefStack may be the answer to this ever occuring problem. You just fill this thing with batter, close the lid, and you start getting pancakes at the rate of 200 per hour (perfect for early morning picnics with the local football team or fire department – maybe even both).

Now I know what you are thinking, “How can I get one of these amazing marvels of technology?”. Hmmm….well, I have a bit of bad news for you (unless you are Bill Gates or Steve Jobs). This amazing kitchen gadget is not for everyone’s kitchen since it totes a price tag of around $3,500. Oh well. Perhaps, if you are really good this year, Santa can wrap one up for you, and leave it under your tree (along with the Mazarati that he left you in your garage).

Smart Glove Translates Hand Movements Into Text

I am really surprised that the company that developed this technology decided just to take a set of hand motions, and translate them into text, as oppose to, using sign language to do the same thing. American sign language is well known, and could better help those who are hearing impaired to be able to communicate. Also, it would be a great incentive for hearing people to learn sign language as well. That aside, this is still an amazing development.

Neuroscientists have created a special glove (sans the fingers) that automatically translates hand motions into text by way of electrode sensors. Michael Linderman and his colleagues published the results of the first phase of their research project in an edition of “PLoS ONE”. In this phase, using a digital pen, a couple of volunteers wrote the numbers 0 through 9 several times while wearing the prototype. The glove itself recorded the electrical activity of eight muscles in the hands and forearms of the volunteers. A computer gathered the electrical data using the digital pen as an output source. Pattern recognition was taught to the computer which derived written symbols from the bursts of electrical activity.

Photobombing – The Fine Art Of Ruining Pictures

I am not completely sure where the term photobombing (or photo bombing) came from. Most of the time when you have an unexpected person in your picture, it was purely on accident – other times, totally on purpose. I have a friend who will look for pictures he can jump in on. Sometimes it’s funny, other times he gets chased down the street. I have a couple in my private stash that are REALLY funny. Maybe some day I’ll share them with the world. For now, I’ll let other people be the star (or villian) of the show.

Technically, I’m not sure if this is a “photo bombing” moment, but it is a VERY special moment just the same.

That was fun, but there is a lot more where these pics came from. Check out some more other photo bombing links:

Sirius XM SkyDock – brings Satellite Radio To The iPhone

The iPhone is one of the most popular smart phones on the market, and for good reason. They are great when it comes to making phone calls, and getting on the internet. Combining two popular past times onto one device was a stroke of genius by Apple. Now Sirius radio is working to jump on the iPhone bandwagon with the Sirius XM SkyDock.

The dock itself contains Sirius XM’s very own radio receiver chip within the device itself, allowing the Sirius XM SkyDock to provide full access to its entire lineup of programming. Lacking an internal power source, the dock does need to connect to a vehicle’s cigarette power adapter to operate, but it will also charge an iPhone AT THE SAME TIME! Radio signals are transmitted to your vehicle’s stereo system via an aux output or built-in FM transmitter. You will need to set up a sat-radio antenna to catch the signal, but it is well worth your time and effort.

The Video iPod Nano Vs. The Flip Camera

This is an interesting point – is the Video iPod Nano a threat to the Flip camera? Personally, I really doubt that it’s a threat. Is it competition for the Flip Camera in regards to playing media? Yes, because Apple consistently puts out products that can perform really well, and show off different media aspects in their best form. As far as being competition when it comes to being a camera? No, since the Video iPod Nano was not really designed to be a camera. Right now, the main reason people are getting the Flip camera is because they need something that can take pictures at the drop of a hat, and easily upload and share pictures (as well as video) on the internet. The Video iPod Nano is for those who want to enjoy pictures and video for themselves. If Apple ever decides to come out with a camera that can also do what the Video iPod Nano does, then perhaps a better discussion can be had since at that time we would be comparing apples to apples (pun intended).

Then again, the Flip may have evolved again to something even better than the Video iPod Nano, and by then it would have established a strong reputation of being a reliable camera. If the company that makes the Flip camera could combine quality customer service with its already quality product, THEN we could have a battle of the compact video technologies. Would be interesting to see.

Comments? Thoughts?
